Dear Just 5 Family,

We hope you are all holding up well and had a smooth transition into the new year.

This month, Just 5 was able to donate $2,500 to a single woman experiencing extreme financial hardship. After escaping both a physically and emotionally abusive marriage in New York, our recipient moved back to California and struggled to make ends meet. Working part-time as an interior decorator, money was tight, and housing was temporary. As the pandemic spread, finding a place to stay became more difficult due to homeless shelter restrictions. With no immediate family nearby to help out, and an accumulating medical debt due to multiple hip revision surgeries, staying in a hotel or an AirBnB became too costly.

Fortunately, our board contacted her just two days before she would have been left homeless again. With our donation, our recipient can afford to stay in her hotel till the end of the month, hopefully buying her some time to find a new job and focus on her health.

We thank you all for continuing to support us throughout the years. 2021 has a lot in store for us and none of it would be possible without your generous donations. Please continue to spread the word and reach out to us if you know anyone in need.
